I wanted to cook macaroons, but I don't know how long should I left the egg white in room temperature.
Overnight is between the time you go to bed and when you get up in the morning. I wouldn't worry about the egg being warm enough to make macaroons.
Tick
Then do I just left the egg white out before I sleep and then use it when I wake up the next morning?
What does the recipe say? "Overnight" is not the same as "at room temperature."
It says Xgm egg white, at room temperature, left out overnight.
Then it would just be an egg left out at room temp from the time you went to bed, to the time you woke up. All though I have made macaroons, and have never left the eggs out over night.
All you need:
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
6 tbsp cocoa
1/2 cup fine shredded coconut
3 cups oatmeal
1. Combine the first four ingredients together in a large pot and bring to a boil
For about 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
2. Take pot off stove and add the coconut and oatmeal. Mix until everything is
Coated.
3. Place on a wax paper lined cookie sheet by heaping tablespoon-full. To have
These cookies ready quickly, cool in refrigerator, or leave and let cool to room
temp.
Enjoy!
Note: These cookies can be frozen in an airtight plastic container for about 2-3
Months
OR
Whites of 2 eggs, 2/3 cup powdered sugar, 1 cup shredded coconut, 1/8 teaspoon salt. Beat the whites of the eggs until stiff, add the sugar and beat in the coconut and salt. Drop by spoonfuls on an oiled paper on a baking sheet and bake in a moderate oven. (Usually at 350 for 20 min. Give or take for adjustments in your own oven).
Wow your on seems to be easier, because mine you need to left the egg white out first, after mixing all the ingredients and squeeze them out from a pimping bag. Then you will need to set the macaroons on the baking tray for 4-5 hours!
Ya sounds like a lot of work for little pay off. Let me know if you use one of the recipes and how it turned out. :)
Actually there are recipes out there like that. I encountered one for Peanut Butter cookies. Said to let dough rest for 4 hours before scooping. Who has that kind of time?
Well, to honest I actually did follow my recipe and left the macaroons out to set for 5 hrs, then I bake them...
It actually worked out successfully, but I will try to work out a way so that I don have to wait for it for a long time. XD
Well glad they worked out for you! :)
Thx ^^
Eggs for macaroons should be room temperature-by allowing them to "warm up for a few minutes or setting them in lukewarm water for a few minutes but it is not advisable to let eggs set out for long periods.
Did you ever try to make macaroons using sweetened condensed milk and shredded coconut and you can even add a cou[ple drops of food coloring to the batter before baking...
