Remove it from the search engines drop down, normally top right.
There's a manage search engines option on the drop down.

If Yahoo appears in the URL line it is set as the Home Page you can change the home page on the "General" tab of Firefox preferences to edit your search engine selections click on the small arrow point on the left side of the Firefox search box and select "Manage Search Engines" from the drop down menue.

Thanks for leaving it THREE months before coming back and giving us negative ratings, really helpful, or NOT.

On the scant information you originally gave our advice was completely valid.
