    In a nutshell,
A vector has magnitude and direction.

Suppose you throw a ball. It has the direction you threw it and how fast it was thrown. It has a vector.

When the wind blows, it has direction and speed. A vector. That is why they have those little arrows on weather maps a lot of times.
