Hunter fan replacement remote. Please help.
    Hello,

I have this really old hunter ceiling fan in my house (same one in 3 rooms). These fans have been here since before I bought the house 3 years ago. There is no On/Off switch to turn the fans off in any of the rooms and all the fans are controlled by a remote.

This morning, the last of the 3 remote I had, died. Now my fan is sitting at full speed and there is no way to turn it off. I have looked all over the internet to find a replacement for my remote but I can't seem to find one. I have no idea what the model number is or frequency the remote operates at.

All I have is a picture. Can anyone please tell me where I might be able to get a replacement. I tried to get one generic HUNTER remote from home depot earlier today and it did not work. My remote has 5 DIP switches, and all the remotes Home depot carries have 4. Its 40 degrees outside today, and I can't bear this fan running at full speed.

    Please help. Attached: Remote Image

You can buy a universal remote and receiver, you need both. No wall switch and no pull chains either?

No there is no wall switch. Even worse; If I break the circuit of my room, the fan still keeps going. The chain on the fan only controls the light. I have no electrical background & have no idea where to being instaling a rec

If you flip a breaker (open it) and the fan still runs you flipped the wrong breaker, try another. Lighting and receptacles in a room are oftern separate breaker. A remote rexceiver goes inside the canopy right below the ceiling.
