    1. Speak with an attorney.
    2. If I were the attorney, I would probably advise you to refuse to meet the detective at the store, or to make any statement to the police. If the alleged crime needs to be expained away, let your attorney do that.

    This is a local detective and he non-chalantly called me over the phone and asked me when is a good day to come in and he will "pencil me in". I am just mortified and am a single mom with a 3 year old and in Nursing school.Do I just not go?

    It is in regards to less than a $200 return on items.If I just cancel the meeting,can they come to arrest me home?Is this not enough for them to bother with? I am a single mom with a 3 year old and in Nursing school. Im scared!!
