How to stop a puppy from pooping in crate?
I have a three month old boxer/american bulldog mix that poops almost instantly when put in the crate. Any suggestions out there? I have had the puppy for two weeks and outside of pooping in the crate she is potty trained, there lies in the mystery of it.

Did you get her from a pet store? If not, where did you get her?

After we brought her home we found out that she was left in the crate for 14 hours at a time. This is why we think she poops in her crate so now we just have to figure out how to stop her from doing it.

If your puppy grew up in a cage (trapped, so to speak), she thinks that's the place to poop (since there's nowhere else to go). Might that be the case?

We posted at the same time. The info you supplied answers my question.

I'm a cat person, so have no training help for you. Read through some of the other previous questions under Dogs. Also, a Dog Expert or two or three will see this when he/she comes online. I've read some very good ideas here on how to train dogs and break bad habits, so please check back occasionally.
