I have an outside plug. It has been working fine until recintly. I plug something in and it works for a short while 2-3 min then it switches over to test mode and I am left in the dark. Can someone help?

Test mode?. explain that part better please.
Are you talking about a GFCI that is tripping? If it is, you have a bad outlet or it is doing exactly what it is supposed to do and whatever you are plugging in is defective.
Yes. The GFCI is tripping. We recently had a flud and it may have gotten some water in it. Would this cause the problem? Thanks for the response.
Absolutely. There are small electrical circuits in there that are probably damaged. They cost <$10at Harbor freight and about $15 at HD and Lowe's.
