I bought a wireless router for my daughter do i still need the dsl

You need some sort of broadband Internet. You can't use an aircard though, that requires a specific kind of router.

You still need and internet service providor of some sort, whether it's cable high-speed or DSL.

The wireless router merely sends the signal though the air, from your internet sourse.

So you will need some company that provides your internet,
