I have two remote only ceiling fans with dead receivers (I opened them to find various components scorched and fused). Is it possible to add pull chains? I tried unsuccessfully to wire one of the fans to a three speed ceiling fan wall switch. The fan worked, but defaulted to the lowest speed, so the dimmer switch cause the fan to go from slow to ultra slow. I have already replaced the fans (new fans were cheaper than replacement receivers) and now I'm just trying to find a way to keep the old ones out of a landfill. If no modification is possible, is there any salvage value to the fans?
