Today my friend came with me to the store, she was helping herself to some merch but I reli thought nothing of it, it wasn't me. We left the store, no bells n whistles sounded, we got into MY car n she was going through her bag, as we were sitting there some guy (civilian dude) walks out front of my car n looks right at us, turns to his right where I can't see n says "ya she's emptying her bag right now" "ya I got the plate number" I panic n start my car n he goes to try n stop me from back out so he runs behind my car, I just drive forwards. I leave. What's am I looking at consequence wise for punishment here? I'm freaking out.

I don't know where you are.. If you're in Canada, the store probably would NOT have called the cops and just "fined" you. However, because you left, the cops ARE going to be involved. Having said that, shoplifting for a first offender will probably be dealt with by probation.

I am located in Canada, I did leave but I ran into somebody who was there at the time and they said the cops did show up. Four cruisers. Anyway, I'm totally freaking out. Thanks for your input guys.
