    Provera
I went to the doctor on Friday (it's a new doc for me). They did a urine test but no blood test and said I'm not pregnant. He put me on Provera for 7 days to get my cycle going again (7weeks late). He said that if I don't start in 7 days I could still be pregnant, and that taking Provera would be okay. The label on the bottle says not to take if pregnant or may become pregnant. Is this med really okay to take since my DH and I are trying to conceive? Why wouldn't the doc do a blood test? I asked if they were going to but they said it wasn't necessary. He said I just missed ovulation, and that that is normal. Thanks for any help!

If I were you I would contact your pharmacist/chemist about this. Provera is a category (X) which means that it is known to have caused birth defects. In case you are pregnant. I would want a blood test if I were you prior to taking provera.

It is used to bring your period. Several missed periods are called Amehorrhea, and it is used to reverse that so that you can have your period. However, if you are pregnant, then this drug is an absolute NO. It may be okay, but I would not want to risk it.

Hey, I was in your place about 15 years ago. I was lucky, as my daughter was born perfect, yes, I was pregnant. I was prescribed premarin and provera.
