I recently went from a light brown hair color to a burgundy color. Every time I was my hair the color is rinsing out and now my hair color is back to light brown. I did use a permanent color and I use a color safe shampoo. I'm getting ready to recolor it the same burgundy color, but was wondering if anyone had any tips or solutions to keep my color from rinsing out. Thanks!!

What brand of color did you use? How long did you let the color process? Did you use a color seal following the color? As a stylist, I will always suggest letting a professional color your hair. Professional products tend to have longer lasting power. You can also have your stylist seal your color with a clear or slightly tinted sealer or gloss. It processes just like haircolor, and adds protection and shine to the color to make you get the most from the coloring process. Also, I hope you are using professional color protecting shampoos and conditioners. You can also try a shampoo and/or conditioner system that contains color so that you are continuing to add to the color as you wash your hair. L'Oreal Professional has a line once owned by Artec in which the shampoos and conditioners contain pigment (that can be specially formulated for your particular hair color shade by your stylist). You can prevent fading by using these products a few times a week to put color back into your hair. The last thing I can suggest is washing your hair less often. Unless you have extremely oily scalp and hair, you do not need to shampoo every day. In fact, shampooing too often can lead to dry, damaged hair cuticles that will allow color to fade faster. Shampoo your scalp only, and condition from the mid-shaft to the ends (keeping conditioner off scalp) to help your hair not become oily between shampoos. The natural oil from your scalp on the 2nd or 3rd days after shampooing will help keep your hair healthy. And if you are using a hairdryer every time you shampoo, you are also adding damage that will fade color. I suggest finding a stylist in your area with a great reputation for their color work. They will also be able to get to know your personal hair type and will be able to put you on a hair care system that works best for you. In the long run, you will not spend more on a good stylist, because you will be shown how to work smarter on your hair and will not waste money coloring too often and purchasing products not good for your hair.

I would try dyen it with 2 lots of hair dye it might go abit more than usuall but at least when you rinse your hair it will last abit longer and keep using the colour saver shampoo and conditioner.. are maybe try changen the hair dye but keep the same colour it may be the type of dye
