    Using older gas control valve
Hi, I have a armstrong sideways funace in my crawlspace the m#G8A1000DC14-18 S#A38261CCA.the polit light wasn't staying on after trying to light it.So I replaced the thermocouple that didn't help.So not having a lot of money I took the gas control valve off my garage furnace and put it on my armstrong after I plumbed it in I got it so the polit light works.now the old valve has a blk wire and a white wite coming out of it.where the newer valve had terminals tr\th so I hooked up the white wire to the white wire and the blk to the blk wire just wraped the wire around terminal ends and the furnace did'nt start I jump the red and white thermastat wire at the 24v transfomer nothing happened.I guess the main electronicmagnetic valve is'nt getting any juice to open it.so maybe the transformer is'nt any good?Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Greg
