Private numbers have been calling me, my dad, and my dads girlfriend for a while now and they just breathe in the phone then hang up. We have tried calling our phone company (verizon) but they said they couldn't do anything about it. So do you know any ways to find out who is calling us? Please help.

If your Caller ID says "private caller," or it's a number you don't recognize, don't answer.

My husband worked for AT&T/Lucent for years and says there is a way to track them, but you'd have to go through law enforcement and then lodge a formal complaint through a lawyer. The calls you are getting are not considered threatening, are just nuisance, so law enforcement would tell you to ignore unknown callers.
