There's this guy in my band that my friend thinks likes me, but I think he's just being nice to me.
Here's the situation:

1. Whenever he sees me in the hallway, he smiles and says "Hi (my name)."
2. Sometimes during band he gives me complements. So far he has told me that I have cool shoes, I'm good at my instrument, and that he likes my personality.
3. One time during band I was sitting by myself (I can be REALLY quiet sometimes) and he came over to sit next to me, and while he did he said "Hey (my name)," and his face turned red and he began to laugh. Then we talked for awhile about school stuff.

Who do you think is right?

Additional information:
1. He is an upper classman and I am a lower classman.
2. We only have one class together, but we see each other in the hallway sometimes.

Sounds to me like he's interested in you, but I can't tell if he's interested in being a friend or if he wants to date you. Just be patient and you'll find out eventually.

He sounds intrested in you, he might just want to be a friend but if he's an upper class men then you wait for him to come to you its very unlikly that an upperclass men won't make a move or ask you on a date. Just be sure that he doesn't want you purely for physical reasons
