Help! Pool is leaking and it is winter!!
This is our first winter with our 24 above ground pool. We noticed a small hole (because of water on the ground outside) in the liner before we closed it (mid sept) and patched it. About a month later we noticed it was still losing water, so we pulled back the cover and checked the patch which seem to be coming off. We had to get in the water to repatch and it was SOOO cold. We managed to get it patched and it seem to hold (at first anyway) and replaced the cover. Recently I noticed that it has lost more water (we're well below half) because of all the rain the ground is always damp everywhere so it is hard to tell if it is leaking in the same place. I guess it is possible that there is more than one leak. I'm not sure what to do. We are in Ohio, so snow is just around the corner. Will the water freeze? Should I drain it completely? It can't stand with out water all winter, can it? I would hate for it to collapse and have to replace the entire pool! Should I drain it and replace the liner (which isn't even a year old) and try to refill it before the snow falls (what a huge expense) I am ready to just take it down and start over next year!!
