It depends actually, you can buy full albums by going to a music store and buying the album you want from them, and then ripping songs onto your PC, though to buy single songs you can use Itunes or like the person before me said Amazon.

Now depending on what MP3 you have, you may of got a program with the MP3 which is used to upload songs to the MP3, or it could be just another Plug and Play device and all you do is use it like a flash drive and when its plugged into your PC, you just drag MP3 songs into it.
