I am trying to wire two 8' fixtures with one power line. Can I wire them togather or do I need to separate the two. The room is really long so I would like to put them togather... anyone know how this works?
The fixtures are t-12 with spring loaded ends..

Strip fixtures are connected together often. Use either a threaded nipple with locknuts, chase nipple, or some sort of fitting to protect the wiring passing from one fixture to the other. Be sure to ground both fixtures with green or bare wire and connect to the equipment ground of the cable feeding the fixtures.

Some fixtures use end plates that can be used as couplings between two fixtures.

Not sure what you are asking. Can you use 1 line? Yes. Run your power in to a junction box, connect the power feed to the first light and then from the same hot lead to the next light. Is this what you are asking? Make sure you run all 3 wires and ground the frame of the light.

Can I wire them as one unit? Power one then feed red to black?.
Maybe with my limited knowledge in this area I will stick with a junction bow w/ two line feed

In the first jbox: 3 black- 1 hot, 1 from fixture#1,1 to jbox2, same for neutral & ground. In jbox 2 are hot black, black to fixture#2, white & ground to fixture#2. 1 hot in, 1 switch. Cleaner with 2 jbox, easier to disconnect and no loose wires.
