    State Tax Lien on Home
Can you get rid of a State tax lien on a home without paying for it? A lawyer told me that you could. Could you also put your home in a trust so no one can attach liens to it? I have heard of things that are possible, but it is so daunting a task to find out where to go for someone reputable for help. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Once the lien is actually there you will have to file a motion with the court to have it removed,

You can not transfer ownership of property into a trust or any transfer if there is a lien on it (mortage or other lien) without their permission, in which case if you have a mortgage you would have to take a new mortgage out in the name of the trust

You need a good real estate attorney who also has experience with state taxes. But once they have the lien then you will fairly well have to pay it.
