My dog just had four puppies three days ago but she won't eat anything but cheerios. I tried everything mixing the cheerios with dog food, dry and soft. My vet said she need all the food she can get because she is feeding the puppies. She needs to it other healthy stuff too. What can I do? Please help Thank you

Well, patience804, What you should do is see if you can take the puppies away from her and then lock them somewhere and try get her to eat.

I suspect she will just get frantic if you take the babies away for too long and then wouldn't eat out of anxiety...

I would recommend trying all kinds of things, but I would start with cheese, peanut butter, cottage cheese, yogurt, and other nutritious high protein things...

Sometimes they will eat better if you put yogurt on foods, or no salt chicken broth...

Make sure she;s drinking even if she won't eat - dehydration is the most dangerous.

I'm hoping Labman will chime in since he;s knoweldgeable about the puppy thing.
