I have vehicle with expired tags. Landlord says city will tow it. Legal?
The vehicle has expired temporary tag from the dealership I bought it from. They expired November of 2009 (about a year ago).
Landlord said someone complained because it's been parked in our lot with expired tags. It's parked in the lot of the apartment building and I rent here legally.
I have all paperwork saying I own the vehicle, but just haven't had the money to get the tags. I legally live at this location, so I find it hard to believe that the city can just come and remove my vehicle for no tags.
I live in Reading, Ohio (suburb of Cincy) zip 45215.
    Please help! Thank you!

Technically the car can be towed as it is not legally currently licensed. You'll find this particular enforcement code everywhere and not just where you live. This was enacted to keep the junkers out of private people's yards. You can keep "storage" insurance on the car at a lower permium to keep the car's tags "legal" as well. Check into that option also if you're light on funds right now.
