Horizontal light line across center of screen
... this has happened several times in the past 2 days... I'll get a normal picture, then it will 'collapse' into one small horizontal line across the center of the screen. I turn the TV off, the picture returns, etc. This has happened several times.

Does this mean the TV is dying? It's a Sanyo about 6 years old.

    Thanks,

    Meredith

Yes, in a sense the Tv is dying. You are losing your vertical deflection. This is generally the output amp that causes this fail. If the TV is relatively new, it could be worth the repair. If it is older though, it is probably time to retire it. Remember there is Very high voltage present in the back of a traditional CRT TV!

    Good Luck
