Should a new pressure reducing valve cause water to almost explode
Hi We had a new pressure reducing valve installed a few months ago. I have had the plumber return several times, but he can find no reason why the water seems to surge forcefully through the faucets at times. If it is the toilet you are flushing, It is so loud you are startled because you are not ready for it since it is an intermittent problem. I am concerned that this extreme pressure (for instance, in the kitchen the faucet acutally pulls up a bit when this happens) will be so forceful it will cause a pipe to break. Thanks for your help. This is 3rd house in 25 hears and I have never had this problem before or know of anyone else who has.

If your pressure was OK before the new PRV valve was installed and you get a surge with the new one then replace it under warranty.
    Good luck, Tom
