How to ask a philanthrapist for money
I want to know how to find "sponsors" or Individuals who are willing and able to donate funds to my non-profit organization. I raise funds that gives 100 percent of its proceeds raised from the fundraising events that we hold each year (2011 will be our 3rd annual). The money goes for the research of childhood cancer. I have worked over the last few years to raise the awareness of childhood cancers, and I am looking for charitable donors to help offset the expenses required to organize my big event which is held in June of each year.

Do you have a Federal mandate to do this, to collect money; what is the name of your organization and the event.

I am interested because we do not 'sponsor' or recommend 'sponsors' and I am thinking your post is a form of advertising which we don't approve of.

Yes, does the group have a 401C status from the IRS,
Is it reconised and on list of non profit in the state also.

Most larger groups or corporations will require proof of IRS status, and normally statement of use of funds for previous years
