    Multimedia Audio Controller
How can I find out what motherboard I have so I can find the correct multimedia controller driver? My hard drive crashed and after reinstalling I keep getting this error message and naturally I do not have sound.

Is your computer a package model like HP, Gateway, Dell, etc. If so then you can skip the motherboard id and go to the manufacturers website for the driver download. If not, then the most reliable way I find is to just pop the side of the case off and take a look. This usually requires a flashlight but somewhere (stamped on the board itself)there should be a model # and if you are lucky, a manufacturers name.

    Good Luck

You can download ''lavalys everest'' for free, it shows you all your hardware brands and info. Just search for it. Hope it helps...
