Are there deduction in leasing a home.
Sold a home in a short sale that now forces us to lease. We both make fairly good income and for the past two years have leased homes that were for sale and eventually sold. Our arrangements were to stage the home and allow showings as nescessary. We apparently have a nack for it since both homes sold with rave revues on the decorating. The question is are there any deduction possibilites in this kind of arrangement. We live in a nice home at a somewhat reduced rent but have to move once sold obviously incurring expenses.

You CAN claim deductions if you received taxable income for your services for staging the home.

If not, then no deductions are available to you.
