    I have a acrylic shower liner(in good cond.)can I install ceramic tile over it ?
    The walls and ceiling are ridged and don't flex.

    Most likely not. The weight of the tile will flex the liner and the tile will fall off. If you really want tile, cut the liner out about 1 inch above the tub edge and then install backer board to the wall over the cut edge and to the ceiling. That way the tile is affixed to a rigid surface.
