Is the 2003 Ford diesel motor the same as the 2007 motor?

I believe 2003-late 2006 (2007 model year) were 6.0L Power Strokes and 2008-2010 are 6.4L.

Pre 2003 were the 7.4L
2011- The new 6.7L (code named: scorpion[its got a top mounted turbo])

It depends on when the 03 engine was made. The first half of the of 03 was still the 7.3L. The second half of the year was when they switched to the 6.0L. Overall, the 6.0 remained unchanged at it's core over the years. The big differences were programming in the PCM, different turbo designs, different injectors/fuel system.
