So I have dyed red hair, I've dyed it quite a few times and although I love it when it's first done it quickly turns pink on the ends and I'm getting sick of dying it. I use to dye it a light auburn colour, it would be a lot easier to get back to this colour but not sure if I can use a home dye kit to do it! How would it look ontop of red hair?

If the red you have now is a deeper or darker red, you cannot use a color to achieve the result you want. Color on top of color only goes darker. I highly suggest a professional hair stylist to help you achieve the result you are going for. At that point, if you must do a home hair color, you can touch up and maintain the professional color with the auburn color you used before. I have seen too many times where someone tries to make a major hair color change at home which results in them having to pay me to do a major color correction afterward that costs much much more than if they'd just come to me in the first place.
