The father of my son is on the sex offender registration.it an m1 charge.my son lives with me and neither of us have custody.I want to know if he would be able to get custody or what would happen.he lives in lincoln Nebraska .I haven't tried anything yet I want to learn more about his rights

Was the sex offense in any way related to the child, is he a danger to the child ?

Normally unless you can prove him a threat, he will have equal rights.

Why have you not filed for custody at this point ?

Was he alread registered or is this a new charge before having a child with him ?

Lots of people are on that list for reasons which don't constitute real threats to children. It's mainly a mechanism to give notice to members of the community.

As others have said, you need to go to court and get a custody/ visitation order in place.
