My husband and I have been married for 22 years. At first I thought I was being a good wife by always doing everything he told me to do, all the while putting up with his on going anger. He thinks that men are supposed to get everything and women are supposed to work outside the home and do all the inside housework without the husband ever doing anything. This includes doing everything with and for the kids. If anything goes wrong it is always my fault. We have tried counseling twice. But the counsulors always become intimidated with my husband, Now we live in a different state where we don't have any family and I can't get a job here. But my husband has been telling me that I need to. I have had ( since the wedding 3 operations and get reacurring shingles. PLEASE HELP ME

Can you please say what country or area of the world you are from, so we can see what cultures may be dominating your husband, because in Hispanic culture this is very common as kids have been taught to think this way for several generations.

If you are afraid of him, contact your local woman's shelter for help. They will be able to answer any of your questions. Use your computer to look where the nearest one is and number. Please at least give them a call, it doesn't cost anything, and they won't judge you, only help you.

To the OP, when you say that these counselors are intimidated by your Husband, could you please explain?

I am Hispanic, I expect certain things, and so do all of my friends?
