It should be under the kitchen sink with double angle stop on cold line or behind the refrigerator.

It could be in basement if u have access to clod water line there.

Does water line go through floor to basement? If so follow line to cold water pipe. There should a valve, usually a saddle valve located on pipe.

Your small supply line to the ice maker is likely tapped into a cold supply nearby via a saddle valve, that saddle has its own integral shut off. Does you supply line have a tubular filter attached to it

An ice maker line shall be installed closest to a supply for immediate access in case there is a leak with ice maker. For example, kitchen sink supply or behind fridge.

    Hi all:

Argaiu said, "an ice maker line shall be installed closest to a supply for immediate access in case there is a leak with ice maker. for example, kitchen sink supply or behind fridge"...

And that is all well and good as the plumbing code book reads, but in the real world this ice maker shutoff can be just about anywhere with all the weekend DIY people doing things nowadays... ;)

Certainly could be behind the fridge...

Could be under the kitchen sink...

Could be under a lavatory vanity base in a bathroom backed up to the fridge...

Could be in the basement ceiling underneath the fridge...

Could be located in the mechanical room for future access should the basement ceiling get finished some day down the road...

Could be in a finished ceiling in the basement...

It could even be non-existent and would require the main water shutoff to be shut and the house drained to a low point for access to the line.

Humblewings, look around behind the fridge, under the sink, in the basement ceiling and even in the mechanical room near the water heater and see if you can find the 1/4" tubing that supplys the fridge... should be able to trace it back to a shutoff, somewhere, if you're lucky!

Mark gave you a number of places to install a ice maker supply but the most popular place to install a ice maker kit, (see image) is a saddle clamp valve, (see imag) on the cold water supply under then kitchen sink. Good luck, Tom
