A girls father was a very heavy gambler and betted his daughter because he thought he was going to won. He didn't and he killed hisself. The guy who won had wanted his daughter anyway so he was happy, but another guy didn'y like it so he betted against the guy and won. SInce he is her guardian he takes her to his house where his mother doesn't like her, the guy tries to get her back, and they wound up falling in love.
