I had protected sex with my boyfriend on October 23rd and he didn't even come, but I'm concerned about something else. If perhaps precome were to come into play and some of it had gotten inside of me, could I have gotten pregnant? My breasts are very sore to the touch, I have slight clear nipple discharge from one of them, and I'm having very sharp pains where the nurse practitioner said my right ovary is. She said the pain could be an infected fallopian tube or ovarian cyst and prescribed Flagyl to treat it. I have irregular periods, so I don't know when my next one is or when I ovulate. I took an EPT brand test November 4th and it came back negative. Then I took a First Response test November 11th. It also came back negative. I was wondering, am I worrying over nothing? Could I be ovulating? Or is it a huge possibility that I could be pregnant?

What sort of protection was used? If a condom, was there any penetration prior to it being put on? From what you describe it is unlikely you would have become pregnant.

The pain may have been from ovulation itself. It is not uncommon for some women to feel pain or discomfort on one side or the other just prior to or during ovulation. Breast soreness is also sometimes experienced during this time.

The test on the 4th would have been a bit too early to be accurate. The one on the 11th was likely accurate.

For the peace of mind, try another test in another week. If you were pregnant, it would most likely show up by that time.

It was a condom and no, no penetration prior. I'm mainly concerned about the pre-come. I'm going to try another test Friday. The nurse practitioner did a urine test and told me I wasn't pregnant, but I feel weird. She told me to test Monday and I would know for sure or not if I am or am not, but I want to put my mind to rest GOOD. I'm confused by all the ovulation and pregnancy stuff and I just don't understand it. Thank you.

Out of curiosity, why are you concerned about pre-ejaculate if there was no prior penetration AND a condom was used?

I had a bad relationship in the past where I thought I was pregnant because I was showing definite signs and my mother was SO freaked out. And now I'm paranoid about it. I'm terrified of disappointing my parents but yet I want to be with my boyfriend.

Since it appears the condom was used correctly, odds are very small that you are pregnant.

Pre-ejaculate most often becomes a possible issue when a couple engages in foreplay with penetration, the man withdraws to ejaculate, and then thinking no sperm are left, reenters the vagina. The glands that produce fluid during arousal may then pick up some residual sperm.

If you want to decrease the odds of pregnancy even more, consider using two forms of birth control.
