    Probation Fines
I'm currently serving a one year probation for possession of marijuana under one oz. with the possibility of exspungment. I have paid some but I still owe $1,300 and the judge so the judge said do 200 hrs of comm. Serv. In 34 days or pay of my whole fine. Its my first offense and I don't think I'm going to be through with all those hrs before I go back to court. That's why I asked if I can't pay my fines will I go to jail for 60 days or until your probation is over or which ever comes first?

Why is doing the 200 hours of community service so difficult for you? That is what I am reading into your post. The judge says 200 hours and don't you think he knows it won't be over before you appear in court. You are showing good faith by just doing what you can, and then going back to court. It is a catch 22 my friend, if you can't pay your fines, then if the judge wants, yes it is jail time.

So just go and do the community service chores and be done with it.

    Hello A:

When you violate, the clock stops tolling and your probation NEVER finishes... So, if it were me, I'd do EVERYTHING I could to work those hours off. I actually think it's a pretty good trade. Most courts WON'T forgo fines...

Its not that I have a problem with doing the community service, I was given a short amount of time to do it w/o getting 2 for 1 hrs and I was wondering what would happen if I wasn't able to complete all of my hours.
