Hi there, rather than ripping out my pink bathtub and fully floor to ceiling pink tiled bathroom... pink vanity sink, toilet and all I was thinking about painting them. I have heard that this only lasts a year and then chips away and it is a horribly messy horror story. There is a guy online that owns his own business and claims that only professionals should do this because do it your selfers just don't have the strong powerful abrasives and paint coatings you need. He guarenteees it will last 5 years. Should I be weary? $1300 for the whole bathroom. Sound like a flake? I am more apt to do something like this because I am a single mom and ripping out a tub, tile, vanity and toilet is not impossible for me but is not something I would enjoy doing alone. Plus I would this this is a cheaper option. Deal is that I want to do it the right way. If this is going to flake on me in a year I don't want to pay $1300. What would your instinct tell you to do?

I had a tub done about 7 years ago. The only place that chipped was around the drain.This started about a year ago. The tub strainer should be removed before doing the painting. This was not done with original job. I removed strainer and patched this area. Way cheaper and less dirty then removing tub.

If tub is a steel tub, there is movement if tub was not bedded. This will cause the tub to chip at an earlier time.

Also had ceramic soap trays done. These are as good as when done.

The toilet should be replaced. Was told would not work well on toilet.

THis is great to hear! I can replace the toilet easily. Yes, they did mention to remove that before they came. So worse case if I just had a little patchign that would be no problem 7 years is a long time!! Thanks so much!

U have to be careful with dropping things into tub or stink. It will not take to abuse. Once it chips, the chip will grow from water getting under paint.
