    Wv rules for raising rent?
Does anyone know how much my WV landlord can raise my rent? I have lived here for six years without any increases. Now I am getting hit with what amounts to 30% increase. Should I just be glad that I went for six years with no increase?

I don't see any restriction upon rent inceases in Article Six (Landlord-Tenant) of Chapter 37 of the West Virginia Code.

Be thankful for the past 6 years, 30% is a bite but spread out over 6 years it does not appear unreasonable. Same owners?

Yes; same owners. Really nice, but, oh well, you are right, I got away with six years and no increase. Way more expensive to move and nothing else is going to be cheaper.

Thanks, I should have known there were codes. Landlords probably know them by heart. I will just pay the piper.. not a lot of choices really.

You can try negotiating. Explain to the landlords that a 30% increase in one shot is really hard for you. Ask if you can spread the increase over the next couple of years.
