What state is your probation in? Most of the time they will not send you to prison for a first time drug possession. This is classified as a low risk to society. Prisons are so overpopulated and funds are limited that they don't want to just throw someone back in prison for petty violations. Your PO might give you a warning, make you do little jail time, or you will have stricter guidelines on your probation such as attending a drug program, more frequent visits, more UA's, or a curfew. The parole board tries to use alternatives before just sending someone to prison at all costs. They usually will only send someone to prison only if these alternatives don't seem to work, you keep violating, or you commit a serious crime
