1997 Sierra K1500 V8 Won't Start
Turn the key, click. Nothing happens.
It had been running a few days ago, stopped yesterday. Ignition sometime took up to 10 or more seconds with the key turned all the way until it would start.
- Headlights work
- Radio works
- Cab lights work
I live in Portland, ME. The weather is mid to high 40's in the day, mid 20 low 30s at night.
Thoughts on what could be bad? Battery, connection, alternator, ICM?

TX, thanks, glad you pointed me here. Looks like you've got all the serious car knowledge eh?
Answer #4 is the one I should be looking at, correct? I'll look this over, follow the instructions, and see what I can find.
Thanks guy!

Update 11/18
Cleaned the terminals, got a new battery to eliminate the variable. Still no luck.
Going to try out the spark plugs. I'll let you know what I found out.

TX, I found the issue. The terminal to the starter was in pretty rough shape. I unhooked it, cleaned her up with some brushes and put it back. Reattached the battery, turned the key and listened to her purr.
Thanks guy!
