Ok I've searched online and found numerous people posting about losing hot water pressure and found that your supposed to take the handle off and do something. I took mine off and the ring around the circular part before and found nothing. We rent the house and it has no access to the back area, if that's where I need to go. We told the landlord once and his answer (as always) was that he was going to replace the shower head, but it has nothing to do with that. It doesn't matter if the shower part is on or it's coming out of the bottom, there is no pressure on either one when you turn it to Hot, but it's fine on Cold.

Anyway here's the pics, not the best quality but hopefully they work (American Standard):

If the cold water pressure is OK then that means the shower head's OK. You need to shut the water off and open up the shower valve.
To help I'll need the brand name and it's appraisement age. Back to you, Tom

Turn the water off and open up the valve and remove the cartridge. Check and clean the inlet ports,
Now turn the water back on to flush out the supplies. Open the hot water supply first. You should see a strong stream when you do this. If not then tell me about it. Good luck, Tom

Sorry I took so long to reply, I haven't had any time to get back on this yet. What is the Valve exactly and remove what cartridge, or the inlet ports?

The valve's just another way to say faucet, Look at the drawing to see the cartridge and the seats and springs. Remove everything including the seats and springs. Now turn on the hot water to flush out the supply. You should see a strong stream when doing this. If not click on back and tell me about it. Good luck, tom

Sorry it's been a while but I finally got around to looking at it. The pressure is getting worse so I tried again to look at it. The problem I was having was getting the silver cap off. That is what I was trying to ask before and why I didn't go at it right away because I wasn't sure what to do.

This time though I just turned and pulled the cap right off, it was corroded that's why it wasn't coming off to easy before. We got that off then the other rings and then the cartridge, though it didn't seem to look like anything was wrong with that part and wasn't sure what else I should do to go about cleaning it. Then I finally got down to the Pressure Balancing unit and I wasn't sure how to take it off. I tried prying it with a screwdriver and one site said to turn it 180 and then take it off. So I tried turning it with a pliers in both directions and I couldn't seem to get it to move and I didn't want to break anything.

So if there's anymore help that anyone can throw my way I would appriciate it and will follow up with rep whenever I get this dang thing done lol
