Whether to consult a neurosurgeon or continue with neurologist prescribed medicines
My mother had a minor accident 4-5 months back. There was a fracture of T12 and 1st MRI suggested a small compression of spinal cord. However, orthopaedic surgeon suggested medicines would do. However, 2 months back mother was unable to walk or even stand on her own. We then took advice of a neurosurgeon who suggested surgery. However, we also took an opinion of a neurologist who diagonised here with TB meningitis. We check here CSF report. Readings were something like this: Proteins of 330 mg.. But no other evidences which could suggest TB meningitis. For last 2 months she is on anti-tb medicines. Though her leg strength has regained a lot, she feels excruciating pain in her thighs and knee. We redo the mRI and the compression looks quite evident. Don't know whether I should consult a neurosurgeon again or continue with Neurologist advised medicines? Please advice
