I'm 8 days late but I have an irregular period but I'm not normally this late. 10 days ago I had sex with my partner and the condom split, since then I have took a hpt and it says I'm not preggy. But I feel sick all the time and my boobs are sensitive. Can anyone help explain what's happening? I'm not stressed because I would like the result either way. Xx

The symptoms you're describing... breast tenderness, sickness, lack of a period... are suggestive of pregnancy. However, you may or may not be pregnant as other things -- mood, stress, having sex, etc can also account for these symptoms too.

Pregnancy tests typically work by reacting to the added hormones that are in your body during pregnancy (hence, you excrete these into your urine when you pee), but it can take a few weeks after you were suppose to have your period for these tests to give an accurate result.. in such, it's possible that the test gave a false negative...

I would recommend, don't stress out about this! Wait a few weeks, and if you haven't had your period by then, take another pregnancy test. Just to be on the safe side, don't drink or smoke during this time...
