Should teenagers who are found guilty for committing a crime be sent to general prison

I think it would depend on the crime and circumstances.

An example if someone takes another persons life then I think that person should be sent to prison. For a petty crime I do not know if going to prison would be a good thing.

Depending on the state and depending on the crime most teenagers under 18 are not sent to adult prison but sent to other facilities. Once they are over 18 they are essentially adults and then are sent to adult prisons accordingly.
