I want to connect my Samsung TV which is already hooked up to DISH to my Samsung DVD/VCR combo. I just want to watch all of my DVDs. DISH can't or won't help me, can you?

Please provide step by step directions! Please I need to know which channel to put everything on, what to do with the Satellite remote, etc.

I have a Samsung TV model# LNR268WX/XAA; the DVD is a Samsung DVD-V4600. I have RCA cables, multiple antenna cables and am willing to buy anything needed. Thank you for your time.

Assuming these are the only two devices you want connected here is the best method you can use:

Component video with composite audio out from the DVD/VHS combo into the TV: This will be using any set of three RCA cables of equal quality plugged into the red, green, blue connections. Just make sure you're matching them up on both ends (the TV end and the DVD end). Then another pair for audio which will be the white and the red. RCA is RCA, but if it is easier, you can pick up sets of component video cables at any electronics store. This method will only give you DVD, but will give you a better DVD picture quality. I'm not sure if you there is a switch on the back of your unit, or a menu setting to enable progressive scan or 480p (check the settings for either of those or for a switch on the back).

Composite audio and video out from the DVD/VHS combo into the TV: This is your typical RCA connections that most people are familiar with. These are you yellow for video and white and red for audio. This method will give you both VHS and DVD, but the DVD picture will not be as good as it will be with the above method. You can do both of these and only use the Component connection for your DVDs, and this connection for your VHS.

Changing TV Inputs: On your remote, to the right of the channel up and down buttons, there should be a round "SOURCE" button. Press this to bring up your source list, and then use the arrows to highlight the corresponding input from the back of the TV, then press the button in the center of the arrows to exit the source list.

So, does this mean I do not hook anything up to the DISH receiver?

Yellow is the video, and the red and white is audio, the red and white need to go to the TV and select the correct input, or the red and white could go into am Amp input.

Everything goes from each device to the TV. As mentioned make sure you are connecting it to the correct input. If you have video but no audio double check that you have it in the right place.

White is your left channel audio, red is the right channel audio. The yellow is the video. So on the back of the satellite box, you should see something about an "output" and on the back of the TV you should see something about "INPUT"

Everything goes OUT from the source (DVD player or Satellite box) then IN to the TV. Make sure you know which device goes to what input.

As Strat mentioned, make sure if you run the red,green,blue for video, you still run white/red for audio with the other three connections.
