    what is throughput time?
    During the recent month the following average times were recorded per order:

    Wait Time: 15.6
    Inspection Time: 0.8
    Process Time: 1.6
    Move Time: 0.7
    Queue Time: 3.9

    Required:
    Compute the throughput time.
    Compute the manufacturing cycle efficiency (MCE).
    What percentage of the production time is spent in non-value-added activities?
    Compute the delivery cycle time.

    Just Looking

    Throughput time is the time it takes to pass through the entire manufacturing process, start to finish. It includes the entire time, including waiting time, inspection time, etc.

    MCE = process time/throughput time
    Basically you are looking at time spent actually working on the product versus time spent on the product, the wait time, the inspection time, etc.
