My three year old son touches himself on his genitals we know this is normal but lately he has started to touch his anus not in a sexual way he acts like its playing this bothered us and started making us wonder but today while my wife was changing him he acted like he was sticking his finger in there which has really raised our concerns is this normal or is a sign that something has happened to him we are really concered and would appreciate any helpful imput.

Were trying to find out if its normal for him to explore like that or if some one has done something to him to make him touch his anus we know touching his genitals is normal but the anus this worry's us and we want to know if its normal before we try to see if something happened to make him start doing that

I have 2 boys 5 and 7yrs. They both went through a butt touching phase (as we called it) They would actually do it and then chase each other around the house with their stink fingers! Funny to them, not for us.
I just explained how dirty it was, it eventually died out.
Go with your instinct, but this is most likely just a very natural self exploration habit.
