I have a shower to replace it's a one peace set up and the drain is in the front area where you step into the shower.
It is about 6 inchs from the front. The size of the shower is 48 wide 36 deep and I do not want to open the floor up if I don't have too. Where or who makes these?? I am in so. Ca. area please email back to ( Removed by speedball1)and thank you

Make what? Are you attempting to replace with the same size shower floor with the drain in the same place as the old one? Did you have one in mind and wish to connect the drain without opening up the floor? Can you be more specific? Back to you, Tom

Do you mean that the existing shower has a skupper drain and the replacement shower bases are floor drain type. If so, you will have to open up the floor dude.

Remember when it comes to plumbing, the rough-in is your meat and potatoes of the installation. Do that correctly and it will make the entire installation look like downtown!

He's saying the drain's 6" in from the threshold. Then last time I showered in a shower wit a scupper drain was in the navy back in the 40's. Never ran across one in a single family dwelling before. Regards, Tom

I don't know what a scupper drain is but in my park there is a lot of older home with this and the shower is one peace

I was hopping no one would say that to me.

A skupper drain is simply a trough running the length of the shower ending in a drain. You don't have one. However, Ivan's correct, Unless you can locate a shower that has the same drain as your old shower you're going to hafta open up the floor and reposition the trap and raiser. Good luck, Tom
