Manager won't release my security deposit because other roommates are still in apartment. Lease is over LL says can't write me a check because security deposit made by 3 of us in cash.

Do I have right to claim in small claims. If so so I take LL or company she works for.

Unless you had separate leases, the landlord doesn't have to return the security deposit until all of you vacate. It has nothing to do with paying in cash. You should get your share back from the others, or your replacement if there was one.

You take the person you signed the lease with to court. Management company or owner of the premises, whichever. Or sue both.

When all are out, if it were me, I would write a check to all three of you, and let you sort it out.

You sue the landlord AND the roommates. The judge will decide who is responsible for returning your deposit.
