This is a gasket on the drain correct?Quote:

Did you use plumbers putty or silicon jel under the drain lip and install, first the rubber gasket and then the fiber anti friction washer UNDER the sink? (see image) Did the gasket twist a bit when you installed it? Let me know, Tom
I only used the silcone inside the sink where the flange sits. I did not use anything under the sink on the gasket. (directions didn't call for it).. The gasket seemed to fit OK . It didn't twist or gap, however I had to take it off and redo it and after that didn't fit quite as well. Hope I gave you the info you needed. Thanks
Hi Linda...
I'd disassemble the drain assembly and then use plumber's putty at the drain AND use pipe dope (thread sealant) at the threads where the gasket, washer and nut tighten up... ;)
Cover the threads entirely with pipe dope and then install the puttied assembly and slide the gasket and washer into place and then tighten the nut to squeeze out the putty. You may need to purchase a new gasket here... up to you.
That should stop any leaks you have at this joint... :)
Good luck
Mark
