I need to replace brass steam nozzles in a steam shower with chrome or preferably nickel colored ones. Are those interchangeable or do I need to find the exact model or manufacturer first?

You'll need to determine the manufacturer to achieve your goals here.

Look at the steam generator itself... should have a name on the unit. Then, I recommend that you take some pictures of the steam nozzles and e-mail them to the technical department... they should be able to help change out the nozzles for ones of a different color/finish.
